When “good enough” isn’t good enough.
Bill Edens, the founder and president, has been doing some form of electromechanical maintenance since 1984. While in the Navy, he went to Nuclear Power School. After his service time was up, he moved on to factory maintenance. Bill received his restaurant equipment knowledge when he began working for Turf Catering at Keeneland Racecourse in 2004.
A decade later, in 2014, along with the support of his wife Karen, he decided to branch out on his own and started AW Mechanical. In that same year, his youngest son Will, was there with him as an apprentice. Working side by side with Bill for 5 years gave Will the information and skills needed to become a technician himself. Will is now the Operations Manager for AW. In 2015, Bill hired his daughter, Sarah, and step-daughter, Celia, and his daughter in law, Jessica, as the CFO, HR, and Payroll respectively. In 2021, Bill's soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Paige, was hired on as Business Manager. Bill has a couple of grandsons that work and learn skills alongside him and Will on various jobs during their breaks at school. We are a family owned and operated business that is continuing the tradition of problem solving and critical thinking skills with the younger generations.
